and they weren't hitting on your girlfriend.

But it wasn't.
And they were.

 

Man or McEnroe is the first part in The Sports Trilogy, a series of two-person comedies playing off of the egos and attitudes that surround the world of sports. The trilogy also includes We Referee (2006), following two kind-hearted referees in the tumultuous world of Minnesota college basketball, and Men of the Green (2007), a tale of an amateur golfer, his caddy, and his hole.

 

Farmers for Flight Attendants is committed to the promotion & celebration of female flight personnel through grassroots demonstrations & weekly meeting's at Frank's house. Founded in 1983 following Otis's memorable flight to DeBoise, the two members began an aggressive campaign to ensure public support for these fine professionals.

Red Terror Squad's Family Bed is a kinetic album for the stage, written in the aftermath of an emotional fallout - both dreamed and real. The piece is grounded in the intermingling of recorded dream narratives to document our relationships (primarily using dreams about one another), layered with the stolen text of the great American rock band, Fleetwood Mac.

Malleable Dance Theater's production of grand gesture is a dance-theater exploration of love - what you expect and what you find.  Directed by Erin Malley, it weaves together dance, text, sculpture, Slavic folk music and homespun films to create a sensual, poetic tapestry.  Music will be performed live by The New York Slavs.

NY IT Best Solo Nominee Boocock tells of the Broken Bear Stearns Man who feels entitled to have Boocock find him work that makes him whole. Himself halved, Boocock blames the collective lack of wholeness on 'the Knoblauch,' a syndrome characterized by a sudden inability to say or do what is most natural and right. The 2nd baseman Chuck Knoblauch lost the ability to throw the ball to first. Bear Stearns Man stopped giving prudent financial advice. And Boocock lost Boocock.  Boocock channels his grandmother, who hectors him into getting the gumption to move forward without as much wholeness as he thought he would have.

It channels our modern-day anxieties including inexplicable murders, prescription drugs and tele-marketing. Mixing darkly humorous monologues, live music and verite recordings, the piece is part performance art, part nostalgic radio show, and part Twilight Zone on meth. The iconic film King Kong presents the journey of a man on a quest to find an elusive and terrifying monster, Kong.  WONDER/LUST simultaneously follows this story as well as the making of the film itself.  As actors and crew film King Kong on a 1933 Hollywood soundstage, the film's plot is woven with contemporary reflections on the themes it presents. The result is a kaleidoscopic view of wonder and the human thirst for it.
