PAST TOURING PROJECTS
The Fortune Teller - Erik Sanko*
with original music composed by Danny Elfman and Erik Sanko, recorded narration by Gavin Friday
Fully produced as part of the HERE season, Oct. 19 - 30, 2006, and brought back by popular demand Nov. 28-Dec 22, 2006
*suitable for kids ages 9 and up
The twisted tales of THE FORTUNE TELLER are brought to life in this handcrafted marionette play. On a dark night, seven strangers are invited to a late millionaire’s estate for the reading of his will; one by one, each is delivered what they have coming to them – but perhaps not what they were expecting. THE FORTUNE TELLER is an eerily comic story of fate and fortune that The New York Times called "A morality fable for grown-ups, evoking the familiar idioms of Edward Gorey and Tim Burton in a style you might term Victorian ghastly... macabre and engaging." Songs of the Dragons Flying to Heaven - Young Jean Lee
Fully produced as part of the HERE season, Sept. 21 - Oct 14, 2006, extended by popular demand through Oct 22.
In the spirit of Andy Kaufman, Monty Python, and South Park, Lee takes a warped, humorous look at her cultural heritage. Far from a predictable finger-wagging play, this irreverent new work follows a Korean-American's journey as she explores her romanticized, half-informed understanding of the world. Time Out NY called SONGS "A sweet-and-sour parade of Asian minstrelsy and race-baiting that culminates in a soul-baring love scene between two Caucasians."

Hazelle Goodman, directed by Vernice Miller
