A fantasy of flagrant disobedience, OH WHAT WAR is an underground entertainment performed by a band of deserters stuck in No Man’s Land. Their scavenged video battlefield is a mash-up of mud, noise, history and song that zeroes in on the great war machine that holds us captive.

OH WHAT WAR, an original Juggernaut Theater production, is directed by Mallory Catlett in collaboration with musical director/composer Lisa Dove, video artist Zbigniew Bzymek, designer Peter Ksander and writer Jason Craig.

The Juggernaut Theatre Company is a group of classically trained theatre artists who create original work in a fearlessly collaborative manner; often bringing musicians and dancers into the process. Specific interests include: creating theatrical work out of non-theatrical material, exploring forgotten texts, and discovering new technology & performance techniques that can be integrated as a means of telling dramatic stories in new ways. In all productions, Juggernaut seeks to evince through structure, performance styles and technology, the liveness of theatre. Juggernaut is a member of ART/NY and receives support from NYSCA.

Mallory Catlett (Associate Member of Juggernaut Theatre Company) is a freelance director/dramaturg. Her work has been seen at The Ontological, 3LD, the Collapsable Hole, HERE, the Culture Project, New York Theatre Workshop, the Public, Women‚s Interart and Chashama, SUNY Purchase & Bard College and has been funded by NY State Council for the Humanities, NYSCA, The Hamber Foundation, ArtsFact, British Columbia Arts Council & the Canada Council for the Arts.  She is founding Member of Screaming Flea in Vancouver, Artistic Director of Restless NYC and a member of the 2005-06 Soho Rep Writers/Directors Lab. OH WHAT WAR was included on the 2006 Prelude Festival and has received support from the Puffin Foundation, Abrons Art Center, Chashama, LMCC and a research fellowship from the Harry Ransom Center in Austin.
